Velocity

Velocity, a new service offered by VectorHMG, goes well beyond the traditional analysis of hospital market statistics of years past.  Hospitals participating in the service benefit from proactive analysis of a wide array of internal and external data to identify key drivers of market success.  Velocity facilitates decision-making as executives receive the right information at the right time to make the right decisions.

Service Simulations are detailed, interactive Microsoft Excel spreadsheet models that simulate patient volumes and financial performance of specific health care services based upon varying sets of assumptions. Simulators provide 5 year financial pro forma statements and ROI analyses based on local demographic and competitive assumptions, as well as local program design (e.g., staffing patterns and other capital and operating costs). Simulators are based on data derived from similar projects, equipment manufacturers, and other public and proprietary data sources. They can be used for “best” and “worse” case analyses and to identify the assumptions most critical to financial and clinical success.

Vector’s Service Profiles provide current to-the-moment summaries of critical information for specific procedures and services. Service Profiles are designed to provide client planning teams with critical information for strategizing and planning expansion or development of new services. Profiles combine the most current information on volume trends and predictions, expected reimbursement, clinical requirements, and capital equipment costs. Each Service Profile also provides criteria with which a facility can estimate the likelihood of success from providing or expanding the service. Service Profiles are reviewed and updated monthly.

Vector’s Performance Benchmark Guides provide up-to-date comparison measures for metrics on staffing, supply costs, cost and revenue per case, outcomes, and other critical measures. The purpose of the Performance Benchmark Guides is to enable administrative teams to perform self-assessments, set realistic performance targets, and identify opportunities for improvement. Performance Benchmark Guides are updated monthly.
